Welcome to Geography Department

Introduction:

Geography Department establishment in 1997. The purpose of establishment was location of Uran City which is situated near bank of Arabian Sea as well as near Mumbai Mega City .Uran is also Known about Third Mumbai. Therefor Geographical study of Uran at the angle of Economic activities such as fishing saltpan, Agricultural and Horticultural.

The most important things are that Uran has historically and Geographically Significance such as Elephanta Cave, beaches, Waterfall International Port (JNPT) is situated in the Uran. Particular study of above factors for sustainable development in future

Departmental Highlights:

The Department has been carried out field work, village surveys, over the past years, the faculty has produced a number of research papers.Department also introduce student basic of new Techniques like Remote sensing, GIS, GPS, Multivariate statistical analysis SPSS Analysis. This is helpful for Student Carrier.

Objective of Department:

The Main Purpose is to create efforts in the Learner about Geographical aspects
To create attraction regarding Geography among the Learner.
To Create Curiosity about Nature among Learner.
To Create Environmental Awareness about Surrounding Areas
