Welcome to Commerce Department
Introduction:
Department of Commerce was established as on the date of establishment of this College in 1989. Uran is one of the island situated in Raigad district of Maharashtra. It has specific importance on the world map due to JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust). It has a place where large international trade carried on. Besides that there are ONGC, BPCL, and some small organisations having employment opportunities. Hence, the need of the commerce education for this locality has extreme importance.
Departmental Highlights:
Department of Commerce was started only with 100 students. Now there are more than 360 students in the department. Percentage of girl students has been increasing continuously. Strengths have been increasing due to good academic performance. Majority of the students come from surrounding part of rural areas of Uran Tahsil. With due respect to studnets community, College Committee has decided to start P.G course i.e., Master of Commerce in our College from the academic year 2006.
Objective of Department:
- To provide undergraduate and postgraduate courses for learners surrounding in UranTahsil.
- To create awareness amongst the learners regarding various career opportunities in the field of commerce.
- To motivate the learnersby organizing tutorials, seminars, group discussions, presentations, participation in various competitions,
