Career Guidance Cell

INTRODUCTION:

This career and guidance cell unit will help Student Teachers understand the importance of guidance and counselling in educational discipline. The basic purpose of a guidance and counselling programmed is to ensure the physical, emotional, social, and educational development of learners. The College has established special Cell for the Guidance and Counseling of the teacher trainees. The cell provides guidance to the students of the college to improve their overall personalities and help them to meet challenges in their life.

The aim of Guidance and Counseling cell is to provide comprehensive guidance programs and services that will equip students with necessary knowledge, attitude and skills to become mature and socially responsible individuals. It aims to promote a just and human society.

This is the motto of the Guidance & counseling cell which functions as a part of Student Support Service (SSS) for student retention. The cell nurtures students through different activities and allows students to cross hurdles in the academic year thereby marching smoothly towards success. Apart from this, it helps the students to overcome class, social, and cultural barriers to complete their college education. The Guidance and Counseling Committee is looked after by a teaching faculty. Apart from the main in charge the other faculty members take up specific roles in the activities conducted. The committee identifies students who require services on priority along with their areas of deficiency and suggests the improvement required.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To identify and motivate the students from weaker society.

  2. To help the students in vocational development.

  3. To establish a feeling of mutual understanding between students and teachers.

  4. To help the students know himself better his interest, abilities, aptitudes and opportunities.

  5. To develop positive attitudes in the learners towards study and work.

  6. To help in the total development of the students.

  7. For students to evaluate their own strengths to build on their own areas for development.

  8. The cell organizes the programmes, seminar to create awareness themselves.

  9. The career guidance cell provide service in area of campus interview and training programmes for our students that enable them to develop applicable skills in the competitive market.
